Jubilant Celebrations Turns Chaotic in Hyderabad

Sports more so cricket should unite the society and not divide people. All Indians have a right to celebrate the historical, extra-ordinary and emphatic win of the Indian cricket eleven in ICC Champions Trophy. We should really feel proud of winning the champions trophy. The sports including cricket are played to unite the nations and people, but what has happened in Indore is unfortunate as the people and cricket fans were holding celebration rallies and it has been stoned by some people. It is a very serious issue of concern as who among Indian’s is envious of India’s victory and they are opposing the celebrations. There is not an iota of nationalism, patriotism, love and loyalty for the nation to which they belong. Such people also thrive due to the countries democracy, liberal value system and above all secularism and religious freedoms and they are flourishing in India and following their religion and there is no discrimination with any religion and all the citizens are first class citizens and there is no second class citizen.

But enjoying the fruits of secularism, religious freedom and liberty such people are still regarding the win of India in cricket and the celebration of the emphatic win as an eyesore and such celebrations were stoned in several parts of the country. Such anti –social elements thrive in the free politico-social and political environment but leave no opportunity to malign the celebrations of cricket win. In our multi-religious and multi-cultural society cricket should unite various sections of people. But alas! Instead of uniting people cricket and the win in the tournament is used to divide and fragment the sensitive and fragile society and it is a cause of serious concern. Those who oppose the celebration of cricket win are thriving on the scarce national resources, but some among the same people are indulging in anti-India narrative and are uneasy over the assertive win in ICC Champions Trophy. These people should ask a pertinent question to their conscience and be unbiased towards celebration of cricket win. They make progress on Indian resources but sing songs of Pakistan as they have some religious affinity with our enemy neighbor - Pakistan better knowing the sad plight of Pakistani’s. But still they oppose, criticize and even object to the victory celebrations over the win of Indian cricket team notwithstanding against which country victory has ensured. There is no justifiable reason for chaos, confusion and bawal on such events of the celebration of the ICC Champions trophy. But most unfortunate and uncalled for and untenable as well as unwarranted is the truth that chaos and bawal erupts on such celebrations.

Those objecting to celebrations of the cricket victory should appreciate that they too are the sons and daughters of this great land called Bharat, but they often indulge in opposing ,criticizing and even objecting to whatever patriotic and national. Such people should develop and cultivate the trait nationalism and patriotism and should follow Islamic prescription that one should love his country and so Muslims should also love, revere and respect India and everything Indian and should actively take part in the victory celebrations. However instead of this, they choose to hurl, abuses and even pelt stones on the victory celebrations over the triumph of the ICC Champions Trophy. Such people should learn and cultivate the art of patriotism and nationalism as after all it is this great and ancient land which has embraced all in its bosom and even assimilated all the faiths while keeping their identity alive and has guaranteed them religious, and cultural freedom. On their turn these people should show respect to our national identities, icons and ideals and should desist from creating trouble over the celebration of Indian teams victory. It is the country and its constitution which guarantees religious, cultural ,political and other rights and freedoms to all including the minorities and so the minorities should learn to love and respect their country and all that stands for Indianness and so they should not criticize the celebration processions of cricket victory by the Indian team and should desist from raising unnecessary objections.

It is very unfortunate that clashes erupted in Indore after stone-pelting at a rally celebrating India’s win. There was a dispute between two parties during the celebratory rally. Clashes broke out in the Mhow town of Madhya Pradesh’s Indore district on Sunday after a rally celebrating the Indian cricket teams ICC Champions Trophy final victory was allegedly pelted with stones. Mhow is located about 25 kilometres from Indore district headquarters. A Police official said there was a dispute between two parties during celebration rally. The dispute led to stone pelting and arson. DIGP Nimish Agrawal told PTI ,’’A rally was being taken out in Mhow to celebrate India’s Champions Trophy victory.’’ During this some people had an altercation that escalated into two parties pelting each other with stones, he added. Incidents of arson also took place and, according to initial information, some vehicles were also damaged. The clashes sparked panic in multiple areas of the town. A group of young cricket enthusiasts had organized a rally to celebrate India’s final victory against New Zealand. However, as they approached the Jama Masjid area, a large group of individuals allegedly began hurling stones at them, leading to chaos and forcing them to abandon their motorcycles and flee. In the aftermath, some people set to a number of the abandoned motorcycles, further escalating tensions. Celebrations are good, but the cricket fans should not become vulgar and should not have thrown firecrackers on the Mosque which led to clashes between those who were in the mosque and those holding a celebration rally. On 9th March ,a group of cricket fans was attacked by a violent Islamist mob while they were celebrating the Indian cricket team’s victory against New Zealand in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.Muslim mob vandalized and damaged multiple vehicles, including bikes and buses. Indian cricket fans in Hyderabad and Karimnagar faced police lathi charge while celebrating Team India’s Champions Trophy 2025 victory.

The police claimed that the celebrations could have led to communal clashes, sparking outrage among citizens. Cricket fans nationwide celebrated the victory of Indian team against New Zealand with full enthusiasm. Thousands of fans in Telangana flooded the streets, chanting pro-team India slogans while bursting fireworks. While celebrations were at their peak, Hyderabad police in Dilsukhnagar resorted to cane charge to disrupt the crowd ,which the police deemed ‘’unruley’’ and accused the fans of causing traffic jams. The police action against cricket fans was condemned by BJP leaders. Telangana state BJP president G Krishan Reddy shared videos of the police resorting to lathi charge against fans to disburse them wrote,’’ This is how congress government in Telangana is not allowing India’s Champions Trophy 2025 win celebrations. Shameful.’’ Condemning police action against cricket fans in Karimnagar ,minister of state for home affairs GOI, Bandi Sanjay Kumar questioned how celebrating India’s victory became a "communal issue.’’ He wrote on X, "Can the home minister of Telangana Shri Revanth Reddy garu clarify-which country is Karimnagar police supporting We can’t celebrate India’s win, but a flexi with Pakistan’s name will be removed?" Every citizen of India has a right to celebrate Indian cricket teams victory and there should be no controversy about it and these celebration rallies should be welcomed by all including the Muslims and they should not hurl stones and choicest abuses upon the nation and cricket celebrations. Therefore, celebrations on the empathetic victory of India should not be suppressed or restricted or discouraged in any way.  Thus, rightly, fans wholeheartedly celebrate and rejoice at India's victory in Champions Trophy as they have every right to celebrate over the country's victory.
