Modi’s NDA government completed one year of its third term on 9th June 2025 and turns and completes 11 years of rule, its storey is one of innovation, transformation, socio-economic development and technological marvel. Modi government is celebrating eleven years of its transformative, inclusive and growth- oriented development under the title of Sankalp Se Siddhi Tak and is organising programmes and public awareness campaigns throughout the country so that people are made aware about the 11 years of socio-economic and technological development of India. Modi government had resolved to ensure inclusive and all round development of the country and also ensured that the fruits of nations development should reach to the last man in the queue. Sankalp Se Siddhi is not only a slogan unlike Garibi hatov but it a last initiative which has been realised.
India has surpassed Japan and will also surpass Germany in 2-3 years. There has been significant transformation across various sectors under the leadership of PM Modi in the last 11 years (2014-25) of the Modi rule. This provides much needed stability for households and businesses. India’s infrastructure development has been spectacular and it is the engine of nations economic, social, technological and cultural development. National highways grew/expanded from 91,287 kms to 1,45,204 kms in 2024, and construction speed has increased from 12 km a day to 34 km a day.
25,871 KM of totally new tracks have been laid on the ground - more than the railway system has ever created in its history. The railways now support a functional network connecting Kashmir to KanyaKumari and the most significant railway bridge in the world has been created on the river Chenab in the Ramban district of Jammu. Equally important is railway connectivity to the northeastern states and as a much improved level of connectivity between them to the rest of India. Similarly, as a revolution is the rapidly expanding democratization of air travel. The number of airports has increased from 74-160 from 2014-2025, while the UDAN scheme to provide air connectivity to far away towns has brough connectivity to many towns unpreviously connected to air travel - and a fundamental part of flying.
Urban transformation continues through smart cities Mission, more than 8000 projects and investment of Rs 1.64 lakh crore has happened. Another noteworthy development has been the progress India has made on green energy. UPI, Aadhar, direct benefits transfer and now the opening 55 crore Jan Dhan accounts, through the eleven years rule of Modi Government, has ensured unprecedented growth has occurred and the first time many rural Indian have ventured to a Bank and now using it as a regular part of their lives.
In short, all of this has resulted in poverty reduction and social development. In the lifetime of the Modi government, the poverty rate has fallen, from 29.17 percent in 2013-14 to 11.28 percent in 2022 -23. GDP has also grown reasonably well during the Modi era apart from a few lows on account of reforms such as demonetisation, GST and covid 19. On the other hand, in the midst of all this has been the troublesome issue of jobs. PM Modi has according to the May 17-23 survey by the US firm, Morning Consult, the most popular leader in the world at an approval rating of 77%. More than 960 million Indian's voted in the general election 2024 and the NDA of Modi returned to power for a third time but the mark of BJP was not what the party would have liked. But if more weight was given to 'economic growth figures' then all in all the Modi governments performance can be regarded as appreciably high.
It is between 2014 to 2022, India’s gross domestic product-GDP per capita rose from US dollar 5000 to over US dollar 7,000 -an increase of roughly 40% in eight years. According to IMF, India’s economy is projected to grow at a rate of 6.4% in 2024. That is higher than China’s projected growth rate of 4.6%, and exceeds that of any other large economy. Modi government is at its job of converting higher growth into productive jobs while also curbing the excess wealth of India’s economic and political elites. Modi laid emphasis on delivering public goods and social welfare programmes in a less corrupt manner. This saw the launch of a massive rural road construction programme and the enrolment of roughly 99% of Indian adults in Aadhaar, a digital ID system linked to fingerprints and iris scans. This was really historic and epoch making and totally integrated this region with India. For women's empowerment, many have initiated during the rule of Modi and the passage of the bill to abolish triple talaq for Muslim women constitutes the utmost laudable initiatives.
The approval of the bill in both houses of Parliament granting 33% reservation for women in Parliament and state legislatures is a very laudable measure for empowering women politically and thus enabling them to also achieve economic emancipation. Construction of the grand Ram temple at Ayodhya and resolution of the Ramjanamboomi Babri Masjid dispute is another historical under Modi Raj, as PM Modi's government resolved a 500 year old dispute.
Recently, Waqf Amendment Bill 2025 was passed to manage and administer waqf properties for the benefit of the Muslim community and through immense consistently hurdles, this controversial bill was passed and it is indeed a real transformative political and economic and social initiative. In conclusion, one could argue that the Modi Raj of the past eleven years can be written in golden letters by historians, given that India has gone through momentous and supreme transformation both economically and socially, and also experienced a digital revolution.
