The cause is not still clear and some say the engine failure may have been the likely cause of the crash. Preliminary reports suggest a MAYDAY call was issued, with possible engine failure, bird strike, or mechanical error. The 11 year -old aircraft could be seen from miles away ,losing altitude rapidly and combusting into a fiery blaze that sent plumes of thick black smoke spiralling up in air. The craft climbed just about 600-700 feet before plummeting to the ground almost immediately. Images of the aftermath showed parts of the plane embedded into BJ Medical College, with piece extremely of its landing gear,fuselage and tail protruding from the building. The pilot of the twin-engine wide -bodied aircraft issued a Mayday distress call ,denoting a full emergency ,soon after take-off at 1.39 pm ,the Air Traffic control at Ahmedabad said. A formal investigation into the incident is under way.
The search is also on for the aircrafts black box - the flight data recorder and cockpit voice recorder -for clues to understand what happened in the last crucial moments. Former Gujarat chief minister and BJP leader Vijay Rupani was among the passengers on the ill-fated flight. From issues with the wing flaps, a bird strike or pilot error –the possible causes. It is almost impossible to definitively establish what caused the disaster based on videos of the plane’s brief flight. In the coming days a complex investigation involving the plane’s black box which records flight data -and examination of debris will commence .But the videos that have emerged show the plane struggling to lift off the ground ,seemingly amid a lack of thrust or power. One of the causes that has been speculated on by some experts is the possibility of an extremely rare double engine failure. Footage of the crash circulating in the aftermath may suggest an issue with the plane’s flaps. Ahmad Bunania ,a university distinguished professor, says the engine might have been the problem. But for Ahmad Busnania and the William Lincon Smith Chair, who studied the design of jet engines, engine failure is -at first glance - among the leading culprits.
Whatever may be the possible causes of the air crash, it was the deadliest crash which consumed the lives of 242 passengers and 10 crew personnel and two pilots who are said to be very experienced. The miracle is that one young man has a miraculous escape from the plane which crashed and the Copy of Bhagwad Gita which was safe and these two things are in fact miraculous. It is very shocking that five members of a family were killed in the air crash. The engineers, technologist scientists and pilots should see that such incidents of plane crash should not happen in future. In fact the potential passengers are afraid of air travel but there is no way to escape from the air travel if you have to travel abroad.
