Hamidi writes extensively about his engagement with the classics, namely, Ghalib, Mir Taqi Mir, and Allama Iqbal; he wrote insightful books on each and re-read them with new critical tools. His focus on Kashmiri literature appears more pronounced after the 1970s, which resulted in leading works like "Jadeed Kashir Shayeri" and "Sheikh-ul-Aalam Aur Shayeri"; both texts engaged Hamidi's amazing bilingual dexterity. Other prominent works include "Iqtishafi Tanqeed Ki Sheryat," "Ainame Ibraaq," "Mahasir Tanqeed," and "Riyasati Jammu Aur Kashmir Urdu Adab."
