The true measure of a person is not the designation he occupied but the memories he leaves behind in the hearts of the people. In that sense, Late. Jagenath koul's egacy goes beyond his government service. Despite, being a government servant, he lived a life of hand to mouth as he was supporting a big family as he had four daughters and two sons and he gave good education to his daughters and sons and married all his offsprings in good families. All his daughters and sons are well settled. It is not out of place to mention that he suffered from the fatal ailment of T.B for few years but with the selfless service of his wife Late Gunwati koul also called Kakni and Durg Gigri by her near and dear nones and in fact by all people who knew her and the blessings of Swami Syamanandan jee a famous saint of Jammu and Kashmir and true devotee of Ma Uma and with the grace of Lord Shina he got cured of the disease and led a normal life thereafter. Like his fellow community members he also migrated to Jammu and lived in Shastri Nagar, Muthi and then Nanak Nagar. He is remembered as a simple and honest government employee's deeply humane individual and a saintly soul from Bugam, Kulgam. His life reminds us that integrity, humility, simplicity, honesty, hard-work, discipline, compassion and discipline can give an ordinary life an extraordinary moral stature. At a time when public life is increasingly associated with power, privilege, and self-promotion, the memory of Jagernath Koul becomes particularly meaningful.
